Hi All, I am trying to pay a solicitor a large sum of money (House deposit) from my Websaver account with Halifax yet the payment says its pending and but also still shows the full amount as available.
Obviously I need to get this across ASAP, does anyone know how long this takes or what the upper limit is I can transfer online? (Im going for 31k)
Thanks,

What do your T&Cs say?
I'm not being deliberately unhelpful but the account is no longer available to new customers and the current T&Cs seem to differ between accounts with a card and those without.
If you haven't kept the T&Cs:cool:, and are in a hurry, probably a phone call to Halifax will be the quickest way to find out.0 -
I'm not sure, I literally opened it online abut 6 months ago. From what I can gather it should be paid by end of business tomorrow but just a bit unsure why its showing as available still.
Obviously don't want to waste anytime with getting deposit across and if it bounces back/is rejected then I have wasted 36 hours or so.0 -
I needed to transfer £44000 a few years ago.
I seem to remember the limit was £25000
I did £25000 one day and £19000 the next dayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Call them, see if fraud prevention checks are holding it up. They could clear it themselves eventually or contact you, but if time is pressing ...0

£25k seems to be an important number.0 -
Some saver accounts won't send faster payments outside their own bank.
Does OP hold a Halifax current account - although I agree that the upper limit would be £25k.0 -
The online limit as mentioned is £25000.00 a day per account.
It could be a Instant saver account but definitely won't be a Websaver as this account was removed probably four years ago, and changes were made to the account in 2015 when most card Websaver were changed to instant saver accounts.
If you don't want to split your payment, you may need to use CHAPS which most people do for solicitors payments so they have a paper trail and payment reaches the recipient the same day if processed before 3:30pm or next working day after this...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Nationwide is only 'bank' I know that doesn't offer FPs to other insitutions.
It a pretty core function for instant savings accounts.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »Some saver accounts won't send faster payments outside their own bank.
