New joint account

Hi

My partner and I bank with separate banks and are looking to open a joint account to pay our household bills. Is there any accounts available that we could open jointly that would pay cashback/welcome bonus even without going through a full switch and paying salaries in?

Thanks.

Halifax pay £5 a month on their ultimate reward accounts. Only requirements are £750 paid in a month plus 2 direct debits.

...but they will charge you £15 a month for it, so be sure you will benefit from the insurance products.

You could look at Santander or NatWest for cashback on household bills paid by DD.
But you won't get a switching incentive without, er, switching!
No account requires salary(ies) to be mandated.

Thanks. I am already with HBOS (Bank of Scotland) and have a fee-free Reward Account. I presume they won't pay £5 per month simply for transferring money from one account to another?!

You presume incorrectly (so long as you pay out 2 DDs and stay in credit).

Thanks - sounds a winner. Think I may just recycle the cash through a few accounts spreading the direct debits!

No cashback on TSB (as this is for a switch), but besides the 5% interest on up to £2000, there is a 5% saving on £100 of contactless spends (now extended beyond December 2016 for new customers) each month, as well as less on credit card payments.
