Would it count?

I had a phone screen crack which I claimed for on Accidental Damage only policy. I have home insurance, and one of the things is a single article limit of £2,500 for 'items inside and outside of the home'.

The exclusions to this are:
• theft, attempted theft or malicious damage caused by paying guests, tenants or you;
• theft by deception, unless deception is used only as a way to get into
the home;

The question I have is related to the story:

I had my phone at my in-laws house to be collected from. My partner (at my request) gave the phone to the collection driver (DPD). The driver did not give him a receipt (and on the O2 insurance email it doesn't say to get a receipt, to be fair). I'm obviously thinking ahead here, but the tracking system is saying that they haven't received the parcel, and it was collected at 12.40! :(

If this item did get somehow lost, would this be covered under insurance?
