Breakfast in London!

The hotel I'm considering in London wants to charge me £16/head for breakfast...
... anyone any idea of how much I can get this for in the outside world after a pleasant, morning stroll...somewhere around Marble Arch, say..?

Wetherpoons just of Marble Arch. About a fiver."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

I agree about Wetherspoons. I always try to find one when I go away.
And I like their cooked veggie breakfast as much as the full English.0 -
Go to the breakfast club - here you get huge portions of incredible food (pancakes included) ranging from 8-11 quid. Highly recommended.0

Guessing you're at The Cumberland? Walk along Oxford St and turn right into Soho any street after Oxford Circus - so many options you'll have trouble choosing. There's some nice places on Dean St.
Otherwise, Garfunkleses in London are about £8 for breakfast0 -
There must be quite a few options in Edgware Road? Maybe something with a Middle-Eastern flavour?0

If it is the Tyburn it is now closed down. The nearest is the one is a 20 min walk from Marble Arch in Marylebone.
Aww.... that's a shame. It was one of my favourite Spoons in central London and I've had breakfast there many times.
Otherwise from Marble March there are plenty of places on Oxford Street and the side streets (there's a fantastic Italian cafe which does a great fry up but can't remember the street) or you can easily jump on a bus to somewhere like Victoria where there are lots of brekkie options.
Unless work is paying I almost never have breakfast in hotels in London. There's always somewhere far better and cheaper within a few minutes walk. You can't go anywhere without tripping over several coffee shops.0 -
I did Dishoom recently just off kings cross - absolutely lovely for brekkie http://www.dishoom.com/.
My old dutch is also superb for pancakes. http://www.myolddutch.com/Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
