Evans Halshaw Extended Warranty - DMF

  • Warranty provider is the same, Pendragon. For several days they have each referred me back and forth between themselves to get the warranty - because they were blaming it on the other to provide.

So I'm upset with both the Evans Halshaw division and Pendragon for taking so long to do the above and not knowing the !!!! from their elbow.

The dealership blatantly wanted to charge me for labour and parts where it wasn't due.

    They are liars. End of.

Sounds pretty fair to mention them given the poor service they have provided. Gives other posters an idea of how they operate if they find themselves in a similar position.

If that's what you were told, then that's bang out of order.
The order in which they were telling me things had failed i.e. slave exploding which in turn meant clutch and flywheel replacement - that was them stating fact based on their technicians 20 years experience.

The slave failing would almost certainly lead to the clutch friction plate needing replacing, yes. The friction material would have been contaminated by the leaking fluid. "Exploded" might be a bit of an exaggeration, but that's probably chinese whispers.

And if the DMF is showing signs of failure - and they do fail - then replacing that is common sense. Even if it isn't, it's a sensible precaution.
