Hi just a heads up for people with clarity card from Halifax. They are removing the £5 reward because it's so longer sustainable.
They explained the reason is because of cap for charges using cards in shops. So that's where the £5 came from the charges shops charge us to use the cards.

Slightly different from that. Shops generally charge everyone the same, regardless of how you pay. Payment methods all have a 'cost' for shops. If you pay in cash they have to handle it, keep it secure and may be charged by their bank for paying it in.
What has been capped is the rates the credit card payment system / network charges the shop for taking credit card payments.
I can't see prices dropping as a result, What does seem to happening though is small businesses being much more relaxed about taking card payments for small amounts. I can't help thinking there is a linkage between the two.0
