T-Gel is pretty expensive as a shower gel (this is MSE after all). Original Vosene Shampoo is quite cheap and has similar if less powerful effects in my experience.
Another two interesting things for the P. arsenal are:
Neutrogena Norwegian moisturiser (40% Glycerol but much more expensive that a plain bottle of Glycerol).
Exorex Coal Tar Lotion. might need a prescription, will be cheaper on prescription even if it doesn't, and I'd always speak to a Doctor before using it.0 -
Oh, woo-hoo.
I woke up yesterday covered in spots over my trunk and forearms. Just like OH's plaques when they start.
And today, they've started going circular/flaky and silvery.
Joy of joys.
(NB: I've had chickenpox, had measles/rubella and still have immunity by bloodtest last summer)
Time to grumble at a GP.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Eurax cream is pretty good - discovered it when I had shingles. I can tell you shingles and psoriasis together is possibly the most horrible thing ever. I use it now when the itch gets the better of me - takes about 30 mins to kick for me though. I suppose they consider that fast acting...0

Allergy tablets are good at reducing itching.
I have to have the following routine to control my skin.
Cold shower (lovely in winter...)
Body wash dhc facial oil, massaged into dry skin and then washed off, a small amount of oilatum soap for armpits and genitals.
Shampoo l'occitane
Cream protar, then coconut oil then eucerin healing. On my face decleor neroli followed by hydrafloral.
Deodorant a small amount of teatree oil.0 -
Quick update: Finally got an appointment with the GP.
[walks into to consulting room and sits down]
'How can I help - Oooh, that Psoriasis on your arms looks nasty'.
Yup. Have a quick look at this [raises t-shirt to show midriff & lower back].
'So what have you being using?'
Listed everything that hasn't worked so far; E45, E45 Intense Recovery, E45 Itch Relief, Hc45, Psoriderm, T-Gel/Polytar, Oilatum...
So I came home with Vit D/steroid gels and about a gallon of emollient cream with instructions to come back in a fortnight to consider onward referral. And the earliest appointment available in a month. With a warning that one of the potions will make me mildly inflammable.
Better than I expected, though; I checked the prescription before handing it in to make sure there wasn't a bell to ring when walking through the town centre.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
