Thanks, I don't do dairy anyway because it causes arthritis flares. OH still has milk, but not as often, and his is a lot better now.

Poor you :( I would love to send you some of my hand-made soap - it's literally just vegetable oils and nothing else added and it's very creamy and moisturising, as it hasn't had the glycerin taken out, unlike the shop-bought ones.

I'm not claiming it would cure psoriasis (!) but it may be a lot less harsh than the products you can buy in the shops.

I'll include a link here, in case anyone wants to have a go at making their own plain soap. It's a doddle once you're used to doing it :)

i've got psoriasis on my hands - which is a killer sometimes let me tell you! and although i'm still trying to find that perfect combination to keep it under control, one thing that always soothes my skin after i've had an itching session (mostly when i'm sleeping and can't help it!) is aloe vera. i have a tub from holland and barrett, was fairly cheap, and i smother that on for a while and it brings the pain right down

I've given up with a lot of lotions especially the tar based stuff.. made my hair look awful (the psoriasis on my scalp makes me feel awful enough without straw like hair too!) Hair shampoo wise I'd recommend the body shop ginger dandruff shampoo, I've found it has really helped clam the itchiness on my scalp.
Been good to nab some ideas off this thread.. currently have a bad plaque outbreak all over my neck and usually use sudocream to calm it but not seeming to do the trick in this hot weather for some reason.

Sunlight is supposed to help clearing up psoriasis unless you happen to have a particular rare firm which actually gets worse when exposed to sunlight. My ex had this and used to UVB treatments at the hospital along with the usual coal tar baths and steroid creams.

    Is it a seasonal thing?

Have you tried the Aveeno cream?

I get really bad psoriasis on the back of my neck when I am stressed or hot and my mum gave me some Aveeno cream. It literally cleared it up in a night.
