Cash Machine or Credit Card in US?

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick question - I'm off to Florida tomorrow and I'm going to buy a camera over there. The camera will put a dint in my holiday money so I was thinking about paying for it on the plastic (Mint mastercard) but I was wondering if it would be better just to draw extra money out of my A&L bank account if I run out over there?? I'm sure I have used my mastercard to buy stuff in dollars before and not been charged a fee - it was via chronopay though who might have changed the fee to £'s before charging.

Anyone able to tell me which is the better option?

Thanks for your time!

John

The credit card will incur a 2.75% loading on the exchange rate, with no additional fee.

An A&L debit card in an ATM will also incur the 2.75% loading with an extra fee of 1.5% minimum £1.50.

So the credit card will be better - as long as you pay off your bill in full and pay no interest..
