Another top secret spy car?
What is the car? immobilser issue with the new engine?
Can you prove the engine you bought worked prior to it fitting and nothing was damaged on the removal?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Have they had it running at all with the new engine?0

I have a feeling that the op is worried that after all that work, the engine will not start.
Depending on the engine, it might be the cheaper optin to replace with a reconditioned or running 2nd-hand unit.
With some engines (mainly thos made by Renault) the breaking of th timing belt can cause the pstons to push the valves up into the camshaft with enough force to not only bend the valve stems, but actually break the camshaft as well. The repair bill lone would be in excess of £1,000.Never Knowingly Understood.

It is probably not an incorrect diagnosis as they could easily see if the timing belt was off / slipped / damaged and they would know if the engine was an interference one, which most are, you can check that much yourself. However as the engine was knackered, they couldn't tell if everything else was OK e.g. the ecu, sensors, coil packs. So now you have to pay them to do checks on those or scrap the car.0

maybe but i would have to have the old engine checked first
They did check the old engine
They said the timing had slipped and wrecked the engine
Ever though that the ancillary problem is something to do with the new engine?
A car can also have a faulty starter motor and then the timing chain/belt can snap/slip
If the starter motor was put on the replacement engine guess what! It would still have a faulty starter motor
Nobody can really advise as you have not given much info, car make, model etc0 -

The OP has bought a secondhand engine and had that fitted, it's the second engine that is failing to start.
The first engine was knackered.
The seller was clearly economical with the facts, the car was likely a turd, then it broke down, so the turd was sold on as the former owner knew whatever he spent on it the car was a liability.0 -
Made me think of a car advert i spotted this morning, motor dealer claims the car needs the tracking doing. Why would a garage not fix a very minor issue like that?
The pictures show another story, it appears to have a broken spring and somehow i doubt getting it tracked will cure that.
Drivers side front approx 2" lower than the passenger side and the left rear corner higher than the right. Certainly looks like a broken spring to me.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
