I have used a VPN before but I have now heard about SmartDNS and if it works as advertised then it should be a very simple effective way of avoiding geo-blocking. Does anyone have any experience of it?

A few of my friends use trickbyte which is a cheaper option than most similar services.
You can test a 14 day trial to see if ti meets your needs ..

Simple :
smartDNS = Fast speed - Zero privacy
VPN = Slower speeds - Higher level of privacy.
IF in doubt "roll your own"I've got a $5 month DigitalOcean Virtual server set up as a VPN host. unlimited usage for myself and since i control it Zero logs (well it's zero when i remember to delete them...) lol
