Excel parking and BW legal

I have been looking at a lot of posts about Excel parking and threat letters from BW legal. I received a letter from them this morning.
As soon as I received my fine, I responded with an email. However, I have not responded to anything since.
I was staying at a hotel near Media City in Manchester in January and used an Excel Car park which advertised12 hours for 8.50. I was in a rush, placed the £8.50 in the machine and it printed it and placed it in the car. Later that evening, I returned to put another 12 hour ticket to find a ticket. I presumed they made a mistake, paid for the new £8.50 ticket only because I had drank and could not now move my car (otherwise I would have moved it out of principle).
I emailed them that evening to inform them about the mistake.
In the morning, I went to take a photo of the sign and noticed that during the day it would only allow you to pay for 4 hours. However, the cost of 4 hours was £4 not £8.50. If the machine didn't charge me 8.50 I would have realised my mistake there and then. Have I got a leg to stand on for being overcharged or should I just pay uptake £154?

I would not pay a penny and would defend myself in court if they try a court case
even if you lost in court the judgment would only be a bit more , possibly £175 to £225
if you can prove your case that payment was made etc, then the judge may find in your favour, although you would also be using many other legal arguments too
no LOCUS STANDII
poor signage
IPC CoP breaches
differences to the Beavis case
to name a few
ps:- its not a fine , its an invoice , nothing more
Excel cannot fine you , me or the queen0 -
I have photos of my tickets and the boards. Do I responded to the letter or wait to see if they continue with proceedings?0

if it is BW LEGAL chasing you , find one of GAN`s recent pepipoo letters and send them that as a response to their possible LBC letter (send to BW LEGAL , not Excel)
ie:- deny the alleged debt and deny them their right to chase the alleged debt0 -

You will see examples of robust responses if you search the forum or Google for search words: 'BW Legal £54'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
