Club Lloyds Lifestyle Benefits (cinema tickets)

I opened a Club Lloyds current account in June, in order to benefit from the interest rate and also the linked Monthly Saver.

The current account also includes a "lifestyle benefit" and I selected the 6 cinema tickets.

These arrived this month in the form of an email attachment with 6 vouchers, each to be exchanged for a Cineworld ticket by July next year.

Do I just print out the email attachment and cut the page into the 6 vouchers and present the printed voucher at the box office?

It's not clear what to do. I expected to receive the vouchers hard copy with some sort of authentication imprint.

Sorry if this question has been asked before.

Yes, that's what you do. The authentication is in the QR code on the vouchers. Each has a different unique code that can only be used once.

Thank you for prompt answer. I will need to plan a cinema trip soon.

Yes, they use the QR code.

I don't know about Cineworld, which has just been added, but with Vue you can book online and type in the code, then pick the tickets up from the machine, avoiding all contact with human beings.

Finding something you want to see is the hard bit. We often give them away.
  • Phone them & request a hard copy to be sent in the post.

I did it a few months back & got £40 on ebay for them.

    That's a great idea, thanks!
  • Just be sure to cover the QR codes when you take a picture of them for ebay.

I used 6 50p coins, one to cover each QR code on each ticket

& make sure no serial numbers etc are visible ;)

If you're going to sell them surely it'd be easier (and cheaper) to forward the electronic version to the purchaser.

Not really cheaper though, you'd still have to pay ebay/paypal fees & for the sake of £1.74 1st class recorded delivery - both as a buyer & seller i'd prefer a hard copy any day, but each to their own...

Also the fact the buyer might not have a smart phone or access to a printer...

You can also just present your phone with the relevant voucher's QR code visible on the screen and they will scan that. At least, it has worked at the 3 Vue cinemas at which I've tried it so I imagine will work for Cineworld.
