Hi

I have just asked for a form after recieving my pip decision this morning . The lady on the phone said i may get back pay .

Because i was on dla , im presuming my back pay ( if i get any ) would not be back dates to the start of the pip claim but from the date i was awarded it ? Can anyone tell me if thia is correct ?

My dla claim ends 24 aug and pip comes into effect then .how long does sdp take to sort out ? Im assuming there wont be any as pip starts in over 4 weeks

Many thanks

The SDP (if you are eligible) will start when your PIP award begins so when your DLA payments end.

If it hasn't been processed by then it will be backdated to the start of your PIP payments.

Many people have missed out on lots of money because of this when PIP claims were taking forever.

Pip says sdp doesnt get put automaticly so to give esa a call

They are sending out the form and have told me to put a copy of my entitlment in and that should kick start the sdp as i have noone claiming carers allowance and live with my 15 year old daughter .

just letting anyone know if they were unsure as i was to the process

SDP has never been an automatic entitlement benefit and in the vast majority of cases has to be applied for.

it seems they hope that people don't realise that it is available
