why the smi has changed from four weekly to six

Quick query,
I have been getting income based jsa for just under a year and the smi payment since end of October 2015. All ok, but in middle of June 2016, my jsa payment was late. When phoned was
asked if my mortgage rate had changed. Told them no as I am on a fixed rate for 2 years.
Got my jsa payment later that day. But when I finally checked my smi payment which was due on the 18th June it wasnt there.
So, phoned again and was told it will be put in on the 30th ie making it six weeks since last payment. No real reason given but was due it being some sort of realignment due to the four week period. Came in on the 30th June and was for the six weeks as promised.
But on the 14th July got my two weeks smi payment. Dont know why as assumed would get the four week payment on the 28th of this month.
Anyone else have this slight confusion in these benefits?
