Hello, I was just wondering if anyone could offer some advice...
Me and my fianc! are currently renting a property, which advertised no pets allowed when it was up for rent.
We have recently come into a situation where we are caring for an ill puppy. The puppy is NOT kept at the property but we would love to have her at home with us.
I have gone through the tenancy agreement multiple times, to make sure I've not missed anything, and it DOES NOT state that we're not able to keep pets at the property.
we have contacted the landlord to ask for his permission before we do anything, but can he realistically tell us no when it's not stated in our tenancy agreement.
Thanks in advance :)

How long has the puppy got? Have you researched the possibilities thereafter?

No unhelpful comments please. It's the first time we've rented and just looking for advice.
Sorry - red rag to a [STRIKE]dog[/STRIKE] bull!
  • She seems to be coming along quite well she's eating and moving fine now. We literally only found her on Saturday so we're going to get her to the vet on Wednesday when my partner has the day off. I think she's just underweight by the looks of things, but don't know for sure. Just don't know where we stand with the landlord really

It may not state it in your agreement, but assuming you want to stay after the minimum term I would only bring the dog home if the landlord says it's ok. Otherwise you may find your landlord terminates your tenancy at the end of the fixed term,

Yes, he can realistically tell you no.
If you ignore him, he can realistically evict you.
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.
