BT 14day cancellation period

Hi I already had bt broadband and phoneline and decided I would get BTTV also for when I moved into my new home. So I moved in on the 1st July so I placed the order that day and was told the engineer wouldnt be out till the 15th July. When the engineer arrived he told us we couldnt get the TV package as we didnt have an outside aerial so he just hooked up the broadband and left. so I phoned BT to cancel but the lady on the phone said the department i needed wasnt open and I should call back next day and she explained I needed to complete the order as it still showed as an open order but she said I wouldnt incur any charges as I was within the 14 days cancellation period. So Phoned them next day to be told If i want to cancel it will cost me £300+ for a service that I dont have and have never used. They offered to install an aerial for £60 but im thinking they can shove it up their !!!! after saying they want £300+. Do I have any chance of winning in this situation as the engineer came out after 14 days so I didnt really get a chance to try it before having a chance to cancel and why did the lady on the phone say I wouldnt be charged?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can get BT TV as its over the internet .
BT aside how did you intend to watch ordinary TV channels ??0 -
Apparently the bt tv box needs to hook up with Internet and aerial. I was previously with sky so was going to use skybox for normal tv.0

Engineer needs aerial to setup the box but you don't need to use it .
Anyway the 14 days does not count as you not BT are the one at fault .
You'll need the following before you can install BT TV:- A good quality outdoor TV aerial.
- A strong digital TV signal.

watch free TV via Sky dish, watch the BT channels via internet. Job done, or pay £60 and watch them all on the same box.0
