?joint and basic accounts and all the perks

Hi I'm new here!
Basically looking for advice and people's experiences. I am recently married (wooo!) and my husband and I are a fairly young couple (but we've been together for over 7years). I've had the same basic bank account since I was a kid and its not benefiting me, my husband is in the same boat. I was looking at a new account that would benefit myself (like the First Direct account where they give you £100 for just joining them) but we also need to get a joint account.
Do you think I would be able to get an account where I can get this benefit then a separate account which would be a joint account between my hubby and I which would also give us benefits? Or is this not possible? For the joint account I was going to just put in our mortgage payments, bills, ect from my main account on a standing order each month. Means I would still have my own account where my wage comes in but transfers money out to our joint account.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

In theory, its possible to get an account with any bank you choose.

You can also have more than one current account.

Have a read here then come back with any questions

You MIGHT not be able to get a joining reward from FD on a joint as well as a sole account - you'd need to check the T&C about that. But there should be no difficulty about opening new sole accounts and also a joint account. There is no limit on the number of current accounts that you can hold when you consider all the different financial institutions that have accounts available.
