Has anyone got any idea what's done this to the toms please.

Hubby went out and watered them at about 10 am yesterday morning and they were fine, watered them again at about 8 pm last night and they were like this.

They are in growbags in a greenhouse, the door was open and they were at the bottom of one of the plants.

Blackbirds are the most likely culprits.

    Also possibly rats.

Thank You everyone, thought I'd already replied lol.
Davesnave, funnily enough I went past the greenhouse when I took the dog for a walk this afternoon and there were two birds in there (very frightened when I went in) they were banging into the glass. Managed to get one out fairly easily and had to catch the other one but he flew off OK. I think they might have been baby blackbirds as they were speckled?

Hang some netting or mesh in the door, keeps the birds out.

    Young blackbirds may be speckled.

So far my blackbirds haven't found the tomatoes in the polytunnel, but the sparrows are in and out all day. They're only after the insects trapped against the roof and they don't bother much about me now.
