How long is normal for a decision to be made.
My husband has been on DLA high rate on both elements for 12 years, moving over to pip he had a home assessment on 7th June so 7 weeks tomorrow. I've phoned them up this morning and they've said no decision has been made yet.

Has by phone today he has been awarded enhanced mobility but standard care.
Can anyone advise what we do now if we want it looked at again. We don't have the letter yet but I do believe he should be on enhanced, he can't do hardly anything for himself and has been receiving high rate DLA for 12 yearsseptember wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.

You need to WRITE for a mandatory reconsideration. Wait for the letter though. You have only one month from the date of the decision letter to get your mandatory reconsideration in and it is inadvisable not to stick to the rigid timescales imposed by DWP. You don't need to write a lot just briefly say why the award is not as you would like. The sooner you write the sooner, at least in theory, you can move to tribunal. Do not phone as phone calls get forgotten by DWP and you will likely go out of time if your call is forgotten.
While highly unlikely your decision will be changed you should be aware DWP can and do take awards away at the MR stage.Master Apothecary Faranell replied, “I assure you, overseer, the Royal Apothecary Society dearly wishes to make up for the tragic misguidance which ended so many lives. We will cause you no trouble. We seek only to continue our research in peace".0 -
Once you get the decision letter either go to the CAB or a specialist charity that deals with whatever condition your husband has and ask for help with the letters. Quite often wording things the right way (saying the same thing you would say but in the right way) helps enormously in getting a successful outcome.0
