EDF Price Saver 2008
I just logged onto the EDF website to check my account and it presented me with info on this EDF Price Saver 2008 tariff.

This appears to be open to existing and new customers.
I can't seem to find any prices for the tariff - it just says you have to ring them and ask.

I'm a EDF customer and when this first came out a number of months ago I phoned EDF and spoke to a helpful customer service person. She checked my current tariffs against the price saver 2008 and i was better off staying as i was. That may not be the case with you as there are so many tariffs and region variations.
Give them a call.0 -
I'll answer my own post - I did a search on energyhelpline and it showed me the new prices for the Price Saver 2008 tariff.
Rather strangely for my region (Southern) the prices are more expensive for electric, but cheaper for Gas. (Compared to my existing EDF V5 online tariff.) The total for the year is actually more with the new tariff by approx £10, but with the new tariff EDF have introduced an annual discount of £50, so overall it would save me £40 over the year. This has the *big* disadvantage that I would need to stay with the new tariff for 1 whole year in order to get the annual discounts.
The other alternative is to change back to npower v8 tariff that would save me £100 over the year (although £84 is the annual discount).0 -
Thought this was worth a look at, currently on their V2 tariff. Pricesaver works out £21/year more on fuel but get £50 discount so would save £29/year. Forgot to ask if you still manage the account online and get the same number of Nectar points.
The only thing is that after the 12 months I would then go on the standard tariff and lose the V2 status, so am thinking about it at the moment.0 -
I'll be steering clear of EDF myself. When I joined they got the opening reading wrong and took 4 months to correct it. Now I've just left and they carried on billing me after my new supplier was live. I'm not impressed.0
