    Hi Flowers,

Well done you for making a good decision!

We're very similar in age and I plan to follow your journey (if I can work out how to go about doing this, I'm new).

    Hi Houseplant and moneyonmymindsam.
I'm very thrilled with my *bay sales as I've never done it before. It does make me realise all the money I have wasted on clothes, shoes and handbags etc. I have hardly worn them and paid quite a lot for some things. (Probably explains the debt)
I'm new too Houseplant, I will try and subscribe to your diary. I know it's going to be a long slog to my DFD but I intend to enjoy myself along the way and pick up ideas to help me learn to save. I'm determined not to work until I'm 80. Flowersx

Ah yes working until we're 80!! I feel debt or no debt assets or no assets that may become the norm! I just wish the government/economy/general population could have figured out a more sustainable way to run things that didn't mean my grandparents could retire in a lap of luxury at like 55 but I will likely be a broke 90yr old working away. It might not be so bad depends but what you do I guess!

    Feel free to follow mine.

We're in different situations in that I don't really have any debts but I also have no assets and spend a lot in rent. Is love to own property like yourself. I can relate to he buying too many clothes though.

So I took my lunch to work today but I forgot snacks so I'm quite hungry today. I was planning to go to the gym but I feel that if I do this I will end up spending more money on food. I do have most of the ingredients for pasta bake, I just need to get some peppers or something to add to it and I can then take leftovers to work tomorrow for lunch. I might miss the gym tonight and nip to B&M or home bargains and stock up on snacks for work as I find they sell things a lot cheaper than the supermarkets. I love having no spend days but I guess food is pretty vital. I'm trying to plan my weekends better so I don't end up going to the shops. I have a gym class booked for Saturday morning which is free with my membership. My membership is only £15.99 now. It used to be £37 but I've moved as I didn't want the expense. I may also ask about overtime at work for next month. I've haven't done it in a while as I find I end up really hating work if I'm the office for 6days a week but the money does come in handy and it's double time. I will also find more things to put on e*bay and take more pictures. I find I'm getting to the age where a lot of my friends are settling down and spend more time with their partners so I've decided I need a hobby that's cheap but enjoyable. Flowersx

£6.22 spent in L*dl on fresh stuff. £13.88 in B&* on snacks for work and some household things and £19.98 on fuel so I have a full tank now which will hopefully last me until the end of the month. I walk to work so it's just going home to my parents every other weekend. I hope one day I can get a job nearer my family as I would love to be able to pop in just for a chat and a cup of tea. I'm going to make lunches now for tomorrow and Friday and then watch something on Netflix and have an early night. Flowersx

Walked to work again and I have lunch and snacks with me so hopefully I'll achieve a NSD. I'm having a spray tan tonight which I bought from Groupon ages ago and I forgot I had so I'm really hoping it doesn't rain else I'm going to look rather streaky. Tonight in going to sort my nails out and tidy the house a bit. What an exciting life I lead! Flowersx

Well done for making a start to sort out your finances.

Have you done your SOA yet, I just started a diary and got a lot of great advice with mine, it really is a bit of an eye opener when someone else has a look at your spending, but you need to be honest with yourself about it.

Great job on the eBay stuff, I am starting this the weekend got a loft full of sell-able items, just need to get up there and sort it out!

    Keep up the good work.

Hi Tonka. Yes a SOA is a very good idea. I'll have a look at doing one at the weekend.

e*bay is amazing. I've got a few more items on there with watchers but no bids yet. Going to find loads more to sell this weekend.

I had a spray tan after work which was free as I still had a voucher. £1.50 spent for the bus home as I didn't want to walk home looking slightly tangoed! No other spends today. I'm hoping tomorrow I have the will power to say no to after work drinks. This is where I find a big chunk of my income goes. Currently watching eat well for less on catch up. Flowersx

Let us know how saying no to drinks went down. I've just done the same but I'm so tired from work was an easy decision! My work aren't huge social butterflies or spenders everyone's on a bit of a budget I think.

Hi Houseplant. I've just got home and immediately logged on. I feel guilty. I went out for after work drinks and then went to see an old friend. I've spent more than I should have so I will update tomorrow. I did have a good night but now I'm thinking that money could have paid some of my debt back. Iknow I need to have a life as well as pay off my debt but it's very hard. I willupdate diary tomorrow and do a SOA. Flowersx
