So a part-owner is refusing to accept an offer - and they would have to live next door to the buyer?

Sounds like the other two part-owners need to get their heads out of their chuffs and accept that this is a legitimate objection.

Not when the other two didn't want to sell in the first place!

Now I'm really confused. So none of the three joint owners want to sell?

    Then what's the problem?

Until Hetty actually clarifies who owns what, and who wants what, and who does not want what, we are all just running around like headless chickens in a farmyard trying to find a needle in a haystack.

The young couple are 'forcing' the other two to sell the farm.

The young couple don't like the person who has offered on it so don't want to sell to him but still want the place sold.

Can't the other 2 as the majority owners force the sale?

Better - but still not clear!
If the mother and other son own the farm house, then who they sell to is not the young son's business!

But then again - your thread header is "tenants in common x 4" which suggests that some, or all, of these properies are jointly owned by all 4!

You really need to be clear if you want help!

Sorry. Thought it was the OP trying to clarify. Didn't realise it was you looking for a needle in a haystack!
