in a nutshell
low income couple middle aged, housing association husband had stroke so is limited & none working wife has low paid job.
Upstairs flat large family leaking toilet many months, Many complaints to housing by both flats. Ceiling brown electrics throughout hallway where brown staining is. Housing disconnected for safety.
An entourage of people came to assess the damage in communal areas & their flat while she was working.
*In communal areas only - All plaster was removed down to framework & re done under coated painted immediately. Nothing done in the lady's flat.
Months have gone by. Lady has struggled to purchase paint & broken her foot on the can in the darkened hall. She's had to take a week off work.
She's being pestered & threatened as she's now late with her rent.
Both are suffering breathing problems & daughter has come to stay with them putting a hold on her career in the army.
I suspect the breathing problems may have something to do with the sewage from the upstairs toilet leak which went on for many months. Upstairs had cosmetic repair but goodness knows what's between the floors. Judging by this lady's brown ceiling I'm concerned. Any advice would be helpful please?
