We have decided on a 14 day holiday solely at Disney Resort Orlando staying at the Caribbean Beach Hotel and using disney transport for the duration. We get the quick service plan included but are deciding whether to upgrade or not ?
What are peoples thoughts on this? Who has done which one or even both? What would you recommend? Pros and cons for each?
It will be an extra £940 for us. We are a family of 5. Mum, dad, 2 daughters 18 years old and son 14 years old.

Hi,
I've done both in the past. It really depends on your family's style and eating habits.
With the quick service plan you still get loads of food, no need to book places so plenty of flexibility, family members can eat what and when they like.
If you want to do sit down meals, character dining, dinner shows etc then the table service plan covers most of these. You will have to book though, often quite far in advance so you'll be tied in to what you're doing each day. Remember you also have to pay for tips on top of table service plans, so these can add up to quite a lot!
As well as The Dibb, check out disboards, they have loads of info on the different plans, including menus.
Also consider distances to restaurants, Disney transport is great but if you're staying at the Caribbean Beach and wanted to eat at another resort you'd have to go via one of the parks so it can take a while. I did the quick service plan while staying at the Port Orleans and it worked out really well, they have a great food court. I did the table service plan while staying at the Wilderness Lodge, they have a lovely table service restaurant and good access to MK and surrounding resorts but limited quick service options, so that worked out well too.
Hope that helps!0 -
I would take the freebie and use the extra money to dine off property. That said, there are some amazing restaurants in Disney hotels so with research you could look at what you would typically expect to pay and see if there are enough options to make it worthwhile for you.
As has been said the Diss/Dibb have menus etc online. It just takes time to research.0 -
Check out this website for all dining locations and menus.

We've done Quick Service a couple of times as we don't like being tied to making reservations for table service and which park you need to be in on a given day some 180 days before you go. Plus as someone said tips surely add up for a family of five at 15/18 %.
The only meal we book in advance are breakfast at Be Our Guest for early entry into MK, book for 8.00 am on a day its 9.00 am opening and its one QS credit per person. (usually early in the holiday when jet lag has you up at 6.00am!)
Having said that we are very much a decide in the morning what park to visit or it even depends on which bus comes firstIts not that we have more patience as we grow older, its just that we're too tired to care about all the pointless drama0
