    Hi
    Many thanks for all responses
    Been interesting reading.....
As my post states we are thinking of purchasing a property through PB so am more interested in views from a buyers point of view
But thanks to everyone who took the time to respond.

I wouldn't let the vendors choice of EA influence my decision to offer. Though obviously if the agent makes it too difficult I would be more likely to give up and go and find another property.
  • Hi, we viewed a property with PB a few days ago. I had booked the viewing as soon as I saw the property around 9pm which was fab. We viewed the property with an agent but I know some sellers wont bother with an agent, which can be a little awkward (we sold our house and I showed people around, and some people definitley dont like it). The agent was lovely and very professional and she explained that we had to put an offer in via the website. We placed our offer online around 9.30am and the agent said she would call us later on and that there was another viewing in the afternoon. I called the agent 3 times that day and left a message and she didnt call me till around 6.30pm. She told us the house had sold! And it had sold over the asking price which suggests to me that it was done verbally... whereas we had to place our offer online and had to wait for the owners to push a button to say yes or no, which they didnt do till the following day. We had no contact throughout the day and therefore no oppertunity to negotiate, and we certainly were not part of the conversation when the property sold.
My concern is that the way you are treated as a buyer depends on the sellers, and whether they will show you any decency and compassion. I would still view again with PB, however I would be alot more causious when placing offers etc.

I thought I'd share my experience that I have put on trust pilot:

Beware! Terrible service and tie you into useless conveyancers/solicitors

Purple Bricks are only interested in getting a property listed and not in selling it. You'd be better off advertising it yourself. They make you use PLS solicitors who are useless and extremely expensive for both selling and purchasing. If you want to use a different solicitor/conveyancer you have to pay an additional fee of £360 to purple bricks.

I would advise anyone outside of an expensive area where it might save you a bit of money to go elsewhere.

I wouldn't believe all of the positive feedback on here, I can't for a second trust that it's genuine.
