Agreed, but that doesn't seem to prevent plenty of people turning their gas boiler off completely during the summer & heating the water instead with an immersion heater!

Switching off the gas in the summer months, and using the immersion heater, can make sense if you have Economy 7.

Some people have E7 even with gas

hello again.
basically ive looked at my bill.

i used 34 units which were all charged at 4.266pence unit rate this is the only unit rate.

My gas meter reads cubic metres to 3 decimal places, does yours?

If so, I suspect you're reading the meter incorrectly, and that 'once round' is some sub-division of a unit - probably 1/1000th of a cubic metre.
