So turning the flat into a three bedroom with one smaller bathroom in the basement only. I personally don't think it is a good idea at all.

2 large bathrooms for a two bedroom flat does seem a bit excessive to me.

I don't think the OP has specified how many bedrooms the flat currently has - just that there is a bedroom in the basement and two bathrooms in total.

OP - it would be useful to know how many rooms other than bathrooms the flat has, and also what each 'bathroom' consists of - are we talking WC, handbasin, bath, shower, etc ?

It's an odd shape room. Perhaps it could be possible to divide it? Just thinking you could get a small shower/wet room or even just a wc as well as a small additional room which could be used as a utility room/desk space/useful built-in storage cupboard. One of these suggestions could be a better use of space than one odd-sized occasional bathroom, perhaps?
