Battening lower conservatory,drilling?

Looking for some advice re conservatory
It's an oldish upvc/Alu conservatory with lower glass panels ie not dwarf walls,I want to overclad the bottom panel with beaded panel/T&G timber cladding,to make it look more modern
ideally I'd just batten the support rails top and bottom and edges and overclad with the timber, finish the top edge and skirt the floor edge,but.....
Can I just drill/screw into these rails?

What I would do if I wanted to achieve what i think you want would be to:
Build a number of subwall frames, use studding timber, 63mm, and space 75mm from the existing frames.
Brackets across the top into existing UPVC will hold all together if bolted to the floor as well. Fill gap with cavity wall ins.
UPVC or timber cills can then be screwed to the new sub wallsI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
