Premier Inn cancellation charge? Am I just better off not staying?

I purchased the non-flexible and no refund room for Premier Inn at London Stansted for August 17th. It was booked around April/May.
Although the location where I am at now, I've changed my flight to be from an airport a bit closer and at an earlier date, but this means flying into Luton.
I'm wondering about my Premier Inn booking. They're saying to cancel then I will incur a charge. So does that mean I'm just better off 'not showing' rather than phoning them up to cancel?

This doesn't sound right to me.
I've just looked at the cancellation secton (Section 10) of their T&Cs

and the only reference I can see to a cancellation charge is in relation to people who have made flexible bookings and cancel after 1pm on the day of arrival, where they'll be charged for the first night of the stay.
As you have a non-flexible non-refundable booking and presumably have paid up front then you'll not get your money back but there shouldn't be any additonal charge for cancelling - why would they discourage you from cancelling when by doing so it gives them the opportunity to potentially resell the room ?.
As far as I can see, financially you'll be no better (or worse) off if you phone up and cancel or just don't show, but by cancelling you are giving some other traveller who might need it the option of booking the room, which is commendable.0 -
I think you need to have a proper conversation with them, and find out the actual costs involved, and if they will offer you are a partial refund.

No travel insurance policy will cover a change of mind.0
