Removing old built in wooden wardrobe

Hi all.
We are moving into a property that has an old (possibly Victorian) built in wooden wardrobe. We know we will have to probably plaster behind, infill the skirting board etc..... As these would of been built round it. Is there anything else we need to be aware of? It isn't a full height wardrobe but goes about 2/3rds up the wall.
Many Thanks.

No, not really, you just need to rip out, (carefully), and then be ready to repair damaged surfaces as you suspect.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Do you know any local carpenters or people who are into making their own furniture?
If so, they may well be very appreciative of the wardrobe as it will probably be made out of good quality wood without a bit of chipboard or laminate in sight.0 -
I think that's it. But if you know someone who can take a second look at it and give you some advice. then that'll be great. hiring a profession also works. just a thought.0

You could advertise it on free cycle. As it is an original feature it is likely that someone will snap it up. Ours has a crack in it and I would love a replacement original door.0
