Problems getting a disabled bus pass.

Obviously things differ from area to area but i was able to get a bus pass for my older son quite easily. I asked his GP for a letter, explained the difficulties my son had in travelling and we were able to get a companion bus pass so he could have someone to travel with him.
I hope this helps.
Some areas also have autism specialist social workers.., my son has one and she helps a lot with things like this (she did a letter too). There was a waiting list though.0 -

That's interesting, I'd always assumed they meant more or less the same thing so I will have to make sure I use the correct term in future! Thank you.0 -
I have autism, I didn't interact with other people at school and even now in adulthood I shy away from human contact, hate people in my personal space (can basically freak out but never gone that far but been so close my heart is racing and I have to fidget.
But as I bottle up things even when I do ask for help I get none as they just see me as "coping"
It doesn't help I am classed as mensa level IQ as by that reckoning I must be able to take care of myself because of the high IQ.
It doesn't sound as if travelling on buses would be a good thing for you to do anyway.0 -

You aren't the only one who confuses the terms.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
