Hi all, 2 seperate accidents in the car
1. last week backed into a neighbours car, my fault agreed with neighbour to sort it out(was going to fix his privately)
2 tonight i come out and i see that someone had hit my car in another seperate panel area and driven off:(
im obviously insured, my question is that i will have to pay my excess £300, but what will the insurance company say, will they ask for 2 lots of excess?
what does everyone think?
There is way more than £300 damage to my car, btw i want to be honest but i dont want to get shafted.

2 lots of excesses I'm afraid.
I would possibly raise one claim and ask the bodyshop to sort out the other damage and pay privately whilst the car is in for the insurance job.The man without a signature.0 -
Two excess payments I'm afraid as two seperate incidents equal two seperate claims.Hi all, 2 seperate accidents in the car

As viking states above your best legal course of action would be to register a claim for the incident with the highest damage cost and negotiate a price with the body shop to carry out the other work at the same time, however you are still legally obliged to inform your insurer of the second incident irrespective of whether or not your wish to claim.

Hmm thanks for the reply people, i still can't get my head around the fact that two sets of damage would mean that i would have to pay out twice. so we are talking about a time lapse here, i wonder what would be considered reasonable? a pile up may involve one car hitting another and then subsequently being hit, would you be expected to pay twice then?0

No. The first impact point would presumably be the proximate cause, ie I brake the vehicle behind strikes my vehicle, that driver is at fault, a third vehicle then in turn hits the second vehicle, fault lies with third driver as not driving safe distance to react and so on. Claims would be made against each individuals policy.Hmm thanks for the reply people, i still can't get my head around the fact that two sets of damage would mean that i would have to pay out twice. so we are talking about a time lapse here, i wonder what would be considered reasonable? a pile up may involve one car hitting another and then subsequently being hit, would you be expected to pay twice then?Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
