    Brambles can be dunked in a pot of any chosen weedkiller. You don't need to get much in, just a couple of inches, and leave for a few hours. You only need one or two branches per connected root system to kill the lot, with no collateral damage whatsoever....

    Edit... Half strength is probably best for this, but trial and error helps...
