She asked whether this would also do inside, on plaster
I wouldn't have thought there would be any problem ... but best to ask the experts here

I'd be wary of using it for a purpose it's not intended for.
Just from a safety point of view, this is from a label on a well known brand of exterior paint...
I'm no expert and it means nothing to me - it could just be a case of the manufacturer meeting health & safety requirements, but you can get cheap paint for interior use anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. use it on render or brick inside, I wouldn't use it on plaster the finish wont be very good. cheap though.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

We have always used exterior masonry paint for ceilings in the kitchen and bathrooms and found the results really long lasting and never noticed any odd smells from it...I would for sure if there was....0

Might be worth checking the label to see if it advises against indoor use, or contains chemicals for killing algae, lichen etc.
I used masonry paint on the bricks and brickwork inside a garage and remember some brands warning against indoor use. The paint I used didn't make any claims about killing algae, moss etc and didn't have any warnings against indoor use.0 -
The paint is not spectacularly cheap - contrary to what folks may think. I have used B&Q cheap vinyl silk for many walls - there are offers on it at around £7-10 for 10 litres, and there are folks with discount cards to get this price down I guess.
The paint is thin, so you will need extra coats, but the finish is superb - you pay your money and take your choice.
Which comes back to the Aldi paint - this could be a can of poor quality nonsense, so why take the risk and use it in the wrong place when the proper product can be purchased for not much more?0 -

I'll take this a step further;
Any paint speced for external use should have the contents detailed and additives in the specification,
LOOK, masonry paint is simply emulsion, no magic, it just has to have a few anti fungal/mould resistant additives included.
If you want to talk about resin based masonry paints, which are both very messy and very expensive, then it's a different ballgameI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thank you for all the replies.
I have told my daughter to buy normal internal emulsion paint.
I'm worried now though ... I'll now be asked to do the painting .. I just know it !!!0 -
