Car warranty loss

My friend had a car written off, no fault of her own. She has accepted an offer which was quite reasonable up to a point. The point is, at the time of purchase , the manufacturer had a lifetime 100,000 m warranty which no longer applies to new cars. She's pretty upset. Can some monetary value be put on this lost warranty which she can claim , perhaps as an uninsured loss. She has legal cover.
