Trouble with Windows Updates again

A couple of months ago Windows Updates would not check for updates. It would hang for hours and hours and do nothing. I got some very good advice on this forum. I got a KB number to download prior to searching for updates with Windows Updates. It worked straight away and has been okay since then. However, it just hangs again now. I have searched on Microsoft websites but I can't find any solution to this problem. I am running Vista. Can anyone help with this problem?

Thanks. I will try that.0

I tried all that you suggested. It still hangs for hours and never does anything. Should I be worried about not getting updates?0

Download and run WSUS Offline Update and let it find relevant updates for you.
Just because Microsoft releases updates does not mean you must immediately install. Many updates can bork your system if you're non-standard.0
