Problem with Gorenje Induction Hob

I have a Gorenje Induction Hob. Normally, after turning on the power at the wall it takes a couple of seconds for the panel on the hob to 'flash' and then I can actually turn the hob on itself via the power-on button.
However, just recently, after turning it on at the wall it has been taking quite a lot longer for the hob to 'flash' during its power cycle. Sometimes we struggle to turn it on at all.
Any ideas please?

Why do you turn it off at the wall?
Ah well, that's my wife I'm afraid. She's obsessed with turning off all unused power supplies/sockets in the house.
The problem we have is only recent. We've had the hob about 8 years and it's only just started doing this. However, having said that, the last few days it's been absolutely fine !0 -
Why not tell her to stop being so fussy and get her OCD checked out? I mean, does she turn off the fridge and freezer too, and the broadband router overnight?
Or fit a locking cap over the wall switch so she can't even turn it off? (Would be cheaper than fixing the wife).0 -
