Cd Player with buzzing noise?
Hi our Yeti Cd player has started to make a static kind of noise through the speakers, only might i add when we actually play cds.My son who is Autistic uses it constantly....we have tried cleaning it with a cd cleaner but it still comes across .The static noise happens for a few seconds and then goes off.Does anyone have any idea what it might be at all please. Many thanks.

Where is your mobile in the car? if you are leaving it near the CD head unit in a cubby hole this could be interfering.every time I manage to get one more breath into this body, I will sing a song of thanks to you my brothers, my sisters, my friends, may your sleep be peaceful, and angels sing sweetly in your ears.0

Hi no dont think its that we ave the mobile always with us and its never done that. Its like a short buzzing noise which appears for a second or so ten goes.My son now with his Autism wont go in the car! i think its a case of getting in contact with the dealer which is about 150miles away! These things are sent to try us !0

Difficult to tell without hearing it. I might be a mechanical problem with the player, but on the other hand it might be something like a failing capacitor somewhere that is no longer filtering out servo noise from the pre-amp section.
Might be better off taking it to a TV repair shop than a car dealer to be honest -- if it is a problem with the head unit they're more likely to be able to fix it, rather than charge you an arm and a leg for a complete new unit.0 -
No chance theres something small inside the disc drive has came loose or anything been put into it?,when one of our daughters was about 5 she put a very small metal part of her dollies pram into the 8 track we had in the car then (yes it is a very long time ago) and when a tape was put in the buzzing noise it made was like an angry bee.
We were blaming it on the tapes themselves and when I took the top of the player casing and saw the small piece I then wasted another day trying to find the place in the player I assumed it had came out of before DD confessed.........:D0 -
If the noise is only through the speakers its likely to be an electrical fault possibly an internal motor that is not shielded. Turn the volume to zero to see in the noise still happens. No idea how easy it is to remove the player but I would try removing it to check the connections.
A used replacement from ebay might be cheaper than a repair.0 -
Hi and thanks everyone for coming back to me .....not sure how but today it doesnt seem to being doing it! Ive had to check it out on my own driving round as my son wouldnt come in the car with it not sounding right (thats the world we live in with Autism) it actually caused a major meltdown over it yesterday. Hopefully it doesnt happen again.... but again many thanks for your replies....Sam x0
