  • Have read through this whole thread as I'm in a similar boat to you in that my buyer (who I sold the house to 8 months ago) is sueing us for a new boiler to the tune of £4k. The advice on that thread is to not reply to the solicitors letter and see if he takes us to court.

    The key difference, frogernoff, is that in this case, the OP admitted that the boiler was not working on completion. In yours, your buyer has absolutely no evidence that the fault occurred before it became their boiler. Your case really should be watertight.
