Maternity Pay Question

My wife works part time just now with nhs and makes around £1100 each month.
Shes going to be on maternity leave come the summer and her policy states she gets 8 week full pay then 18 weeks at half pay (plus SMP, MA or any other dependants’ allowances) provided the total does not exceed full pay.
In her case i believe that the half pay+ SMP will take us over full pay so we wont get that. Does this mean she only gets half pay or do they do something else to limit it so you dont get more than full pay?

She'd need to ask her employer that as they are paying in excess of SMP, it's up to them.0 -
8 weeks - Full pay less any SMP/SMA receivable
18 weeks - Half pay plus the flat rate of SMP (or average weekly earnings, whichever is lower) providing the total does not exceed full pay
13 weeks - Flat rate SMP (or 90% of their average weekly earnings, whichever is the lower
Remaining 13 weeks - Unpaid leave
