National insurance on ESA Support

I finaly got into my personal tax account online, which said I had 40 years NI and was eligible for max new pension of £155.65. This surprised me since all my old valuations were around £140 and DWP had told me to wait till September for a new projection when hopefully the new system had bedded in.
However my query is about notional NI contributions while on ESA Support Group. My NI contribution history was up to date, until 3 years ago where there was a £50 odd shortfall followed by a £700 odd shortfall for the following 2 years to now and presumably that shortfall will continue for the next 3 years till I get to 65.
I know it is immaterial if it is true i am already on max pension, but can find no info on why the notional NI contributions should have stopped. I understand that even if you've reached the max pension you still have to pay NI while working. Does anyone know if there are different rules for notional ESA Support?

My answer would be no and that you should still get full N.I cont. you will need to speak to the ESA people and HMRC to get clarification.0
