For people who don't take their job seriously, yeah, I guess it is. But not for me. A lot of the artists I work with don't drink, so neither do I when I am out with them.0 -
So the lady who scanned your boarding pass realised something was wrong, but still allowed you to board? How else would she know 10 minutes later that you were on the wrong plane?
PS What is a visual artist?
I am guessing she tried to board someone in the same seat or something?
I create animations for various aplication (DJ's, bands, corporate events) then go out and perform them at shows0 -
I understand that a portion of the responsability is down to me, dont get me wrong. I am just shocked that I was allowed to board an incorrect flight, and annoyed that the member of staff didn't call ahead to the other gate. If she had done, I am confident that I would have made the flight as I missed out by 2 minutes. The plane was still at the gate but doors closed and about to push back.
This came at the end of a very long run of shows so I wasn't exactly my most alert, and believe me, this is a lesson I have learned from.0 -
U made mistakes, they made mistakes. Humans do. Drop the complaint. No one died0

If the doors were closed, you had no chance. They don't just reopen the doors. ...but didn't get to fly away. Clearly they was a failure in the first stage of checks, but the second check (which probably was counting number of booked passengers vs passengers that had gone through) did pick up on the error and therefore, the company followed its procedures and it proved successful.I am just shocked that I was allowed to board an incorrect flight
If I were you, I would word your letter totally differently. I would start by saying that you appreciate that it was your responsibility to ensure you were in the right place at the right time, and that you are reassured that their security checks were sound in that they picked up in the end that you were on the wrong plane, but that the misinformation that the staff provided led you to quite some trouble that cost you money, and that you were wondering if as a gesture of goodwill, they would be prepared to contribute towards the lost of your revenue (or whatever else you want financial compensation for). You are massively more likely to get something taking this approach then the one you are intending to take.0 -

I'm not reassured, I'm quite horrified. While on the plane a non-passenger had the opportunity to do anything. I'm surprised the plane wasn't emptied and security checked again.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. He did have a boarding pass (all be it for another flight) and he had been through security so not much of a risk0 -
I had the same happen to me in Rome over 20 years ago. They put me in an airport white van and I was driven round to the correct plane.

I'd rewrite this taking out all the 'Mr Angry of ***' lines. Focus on the financial impact on you rather than how annoyed you were.0
