which cards won't transfer to MBNA ??

Hi,
I have the MBNA card for money transfers, obviously Virgin won't transfer to it as they are the same bank - but HSBC don't seem to want to either (insist in 16 digit card number) - haven't called yet as it's a bit early but will try later.
anyone else who I might want to avoid ?

Virgin Money are no longer part of MBNA, but that might be irrelevant (they still might not offer the txfers, but you could call them and check). The Virgin Atlantic cards are still issued by MBNA, however.
Your comment re HSBC is slightly confusing - are you trying to transfer a balance from MBNA to somewhere else, or vice versa?
HSBC cards will all have 16 digit numbers, as they're all Visa/MasterCard. 15 digit card numbers are generally Amex, which MBNA do issue - apart from the everyday card, they all come paired with a Visa.
If it's an MBNA card offering money transfers, then all you need is your sort code and account number, then the cash goes into your current account, you use it to pay off your other card (or overdraft, or whatever).0 -
sorry if I am confusing - that is normal state of affairs for me at the moment ! so the plan is to money transfer from MBNA everyday to bank (easy, done this part a couple of times already) and then transfer the balance on the MBNA card to my nice new HSBC card for 32 months 0%. HSBC are the ones insistent on a 16 digit card number but as you said, the MBNA Amex only has 15 and no paired visa.
I didn't get around to calling yesterday so that looks like a job on the list for today.0
