Sorry, the full model number is:
Satellite L50D-B-14P
[Edit] I've just Googled this model number, and it looks like Windows 8.1 64 bit was indeed the original operating system.
Thanks.0 -

Have you begun the download? Choose Core on installation.

Use the model number in conjunction with the short model no.PSKULE to get to the correct Drivers for that machine0 -

Thanks a lot. I am afraid there will be no downloading tonight though :-)
I need to work how to get it onto DVD, as my laptop doesn't have a DVD/CD drive. I've got an external DVD burner, with 2 cables/usb plugs, but they won't stretch and plug into the USB ports at opposite ends of my present laptop.
I'll have to return to this project in the next few days.
Cheers.0 -

The link lasts for 24hrs. Download it tonight. Are you afraid to leave your computer on whilst you sleep?
Then you can mess around with the image for as long as you like.
Use Rufus to create Bootable media using a USB Flash Drive.0 -
Ok, downloading now. Out of curiosity why does it last only 24 hours? I'll go for the USB option, and once again thanks a lot for your valuable help.0

Ask Microsoft
https://rufus.akeo.ie/
Example using Windows 7 image. exactly same process for 8.
Use 8GB or higher capacity USB Flash drive. It will erase all from Flash drive, so remove anything you wish to keep.
Plug drive in, run Rufus, navigate to image, click Start.0 -
I think the default for the Toshiba will be UEFI and Secure Boot on.
So utilise the GPT partition option as opposed to MBR and allow Rufus to choose the defaults.
Bios should be in the "default" mode : UEFI and Secure Boot.
Choose USB as first boot device,
Shut down the computer, using the bios "battery power off" option.
Plug in your USB bootable Flash Drive and power on again.
In the case of this being your first clean install from Boot, you'll need to choose Custom Install and then choose Drive Options(Advanced) in order to delete the partitions on the drive in so that you can install to unallocated space. At the same sitting, you'll likely want to split the HDD into at least two separate partitions. You can do that by clicking on the 'New' link once you have to got to the 'unallocated space' step.

Hey Pennypinche3562,
Have you tried to put your hard drive in another system? Try to insert it into another system using a USB adapter. If it works for you, then it means that your system is having a problem. Also, you can run Bootrec.exe tool to rebuild your BCD.
Apart from this, you can also make changes in the Windows startup settings.
Hope this will work for you.
Good Luck!!!0 -

I'm guessing you're spamming for your dodgy software, because had you bothered to read the thread you'd know that your post is of no help whatsoever.0
