Travel insurance 3rd party failure

I've used Lowcost in the past but not for a couple of years. I've read a few comments on FB site about not being ATOL /ABTA protected. If you book a flight only or hotel only these don't cover you anyway do they? Reading all this got me a little nervous about our bookings as we book everything separately. I rang my travel insurance which isn't that cheap (LV premier) we are only covered for end supplier failure ie airline, hotel directly, etc not through a third party ie I've booked one hotel through hotels.com and wouldn't be covered if something happens to them. So how do we get insurance for this, is there a stand alone one anyone knows about? I really hope everyone manages to get something sorted, can't imagine the stress they must be under.

Hi, yes we pay for everything on credit card. It's not that often we book direct with a hotel because a lot of the time there prices are so much more expensive the
An hotels.com, etc. But if insurance doesn't cover 3rd party where does that leave everyone. I mean so many people now book everything separately.

Don't you need to book direct with hotel to get s75 cover?
