please help...
had a renewal quote come from hastings who my wife has been with for 4 years . it was £304 at start of july rewal date 30th July...
1 week later some one at her works reversed into her car in the car park doing £1100 damage to her car. our car was parked up and no one in it. The 3rd party came told my wife etc and exchanged details and 3rd party has said it was her fault.
now hastings sent a new quote for £417 ... when i rang them about it yesterday i was then given a revised quote of £497 instead ..?? never had any previous cliams etc / accidents
how does this work when its not our fault .. i couldn't get a proper answer from the person at hastings only have a look some were else...
please can someone help
THANKS

Its the norm for any claim to increase your premium.
Maybe in addition your NCD has been reduced (again the norm if you are claiming off your own policy - only after your insurer gets full reimbursement of their outlay is it normally reinstated)
If that is the case (NCD reduced), then you need to inform any new insurer you approach for quotes of your correct (reduced) level of NCD0 -
You have more than enough time to get another quote from compare the market or others. Some insurers load the premium for non-fault accidents, some dont.
Just make sure that the NCD has not been affected and the third party insurers have admitted fault and are going to pay the claim.0
