Balance transfer over phone not online?

I phoned my credit card company to increase my credit card limit so I could take advantage of a balance transfer offer. All approved but she said I must do the balance transfer over the phone and not online, she was really fumbling for a reason why seeing as the offer was all over my internet banking screen. Made me wonder why she said this, I really don't want to spend another 30 mins on the phone when it takes seconds online...?
