EE mobile insurance excess increase

Hi guys I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers on what options are open to me. I got a new phone in September 2014 with EE and took the total care insurance package with it at £10 a month with a £75 excess.
However today I dropped the phone and smashed the screen, I phoned up to get a replacement sent out to me but was informed the excess has been increased to £100. I had no choice but to accept this if I wanted a replacement sent out to me. But my thinking was that when I took out the two year contract I assumed that the terms of contract would remain the same.
Do I have any reason to complain or do I have to accept that this is the way things are?

You have good reason to complain if they just sprung this on you without prior advice.
Normally contracts do have a provision for changes to be made, but should set out how they will be notified.
(Couldn't you have got a new screen done locally for less than £100)0
