This is probably too late OP but it is possible to remove the virus and decrypt your files from here..

I strongly recommend you read ALL of it before proceeding, I cannot give a cast iron guarantee of success so do let us all know how you get on.

Thanks,
I have looked it up via google and seen a few sites which want you to download God knows what......Am too sceptical to try any until a I know for certain that they are genuine safe sites before going down that road !!
C'est la vie !
Let this be a lesson to anyone out there who hasn't backed up everything that they wouldn't want to lose !
Still, any help will be gratefully accepted.
Unfortunately people will never learn!. I'm sure everyone must have heard of someone who has lost important files but people still dont back them up!. I know so many people who keep copies of all their photos on just one device they are asking for trouble!.
All it takes it just plugging in an external drive and copying over the most important files but people don't even do that.
Just out if interest why have you never backup up your files?. You must have known the risk.0 -

In case you haven't, just be careful with those NAS user privileges, you don't want your entire NAS encrypting as well. Perhaps I'm telling my gran how to suck eggs so this is a general warning to NAS users.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Tried a few things.......well I should say, a friend of mine who's pretty computer savvy has, but to no avail.
Still hopeful that someone can help me , but not the b*****d who did this, as no money will be changing hands.
Thank you for all your input so far............I hope no one else has had this problem.

Again , sorry for your loss ..
You (or your pal) have probly checked the VSS (previous versions) etc , and as you have the newest most evil strain of the cryptolocker family which renames your actual filenames aswell as the extentions - The tool outlined above will most likely be useless..
It hurts - and the best thing you can do is ensure this doesnt happen to you again..

Can you not just do a windows restore?
From the Start menu, type: Restore in the Search programs and files dialog box.
From the list of results, click System Restore.
In the System Restore window, click Next.
From the list of restore points, select the Date and Time you wish to restore from.
(ie, before you opened the email)
What OS are you running, you might need to do this through Safe Mode.0 -

Unfortunately, system restore doesnt affect your personal files ..
On top of that, the zepto sh1tware will have deleted the restore points anyway ..0 -

Sorry to hear of your experience OP. It's made me think.....
I'm planning on backing up my important documents via BT Cloud. I'm wondering if I use the sync function then if I am unlucky enough to get encrypted, then will the cloud files be encrypted too? Would it be safer to manually upload? It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.
